♥ REVIEW: MAC Retro Matte Lipstick

Aaaah!!! I really can't contain my happiness and excitement right now. Even though I owned this lipstick weeks ago, I still get excited whenever I hold it in my hands and wear it on my lips. Hahaha! But seriously, I am really really happy to finally own a MAC lipstick. This is my very first high end makeup that is why I get all excited to share it to you. Lol! Getting this lipstick is actually unplanned, it just happens that the daughter of my boss is selling MAC lipsticks and she was like pushing us to buy from her. And then tadaaaa, I got this MAC Retro Matte in the shade Dangerous. I actually like to get the shade Viva Glam 1 but unfortunately there was someone who got it first. :( But, I'm still happy with what I got. Hehe! :)

Packaging:

Packaging-wise, there is nothing really fancy about it. As a matter of fact, it has the same packaging as those sold in the local market. But what made MAC really stand out is that it has a high quality coating which doesn't fade easily. I also feel that its packaging is sturdy and will really protect the lipstick bullet from breaking. Also, for me, the matte black packaging looks elegant and classic.

Swatch:

This shade is a bright red or red orange. I think this would suit better in women with fair skin tone. :)

Pros:

• Does not settle on the lines on the lips.
• Does not make your lips wrinkle.
• High quality.
• Long-lasting.

Cons:

• Expensive for a lipstick.
• Not available locally.
• Can be drying.

Overall:

I really like the shade that I got, it suits me very well. But I can't really enjoy it because of my very dry lips. No matter how many times I use lip scrub and lip balm, they really can't get rid of the dryness on my lips. I own quite a few matte lipsticks because I love matte, but this particular lipstick is making my lips really dry which I do not experience with my other matte lipsticks. So, I thought maybe their matte formulation is very strong. I still wear this lipstick though, and whenever I feel the dryness on my lips, I will just remove the lipstick. Hahaha! I have no choice but to do that. Lol! Anyway, I still love it because it's my first high end lipstick and because I love the shade. Would I repurchase another MAC lipstick? Of course, I would really love to try their other shades. I also recommend this product if you want a high quality long lasting lipstick but be sure that you don't have dry lips like mine. Haha! :)
